"Foodspotting is a visual local guide that lets you find dishes, not just restaurants, thanks to foodspotters who report sightings of foods they love." This is still in Alpha mode and they are working on an iPhone application. I've been using it and it's for REAL foodies, not for critics/blowhards. ;)

Great for finding places to eat based on food, instead of cuisine, location or ambiance.

love it, and really nice to seek for foods around you with pictures. (and it works on android, and i believe that on blackberry too, or there is a bb beta app)

Reaching a critical mass now at 500,000 plus users. I already use it to show my friends beautiful (or just tasty) dishes. Now I can fire it up and see pics of food in the neighborhood. Would love to see local restaurants using it to promote their specials, etc. Would like to see them enable brand profiles to accomplish this end better.

UPDATE 2/7/11 Their Android App is being beta tested (currently 2.0 stage) and I'm loving it! It's not as awesome as the iPhone/Touch app yet... no profile or guide capabilities, but you're still able to browse foods in your area and of course foodspot. I'm now reguarly checking out Foodspotting before I order off a menu. Goodbye indecision!

Let me preface this with the fact that I'm an Android user. Currently, they don't have an Android app, so what I have to do is take pictures of my food, send the pictures to my e-mail, then upload them to the site. So, that knocks...

Great way to discover specific food at restaurants near you, and fun way to share & recommend great dishes when u have them. Simple point & click. I-Phone & web only for now, needs an Android app!
