Why is everyone talking about Four Square? Well, combine your mobile phone with a Twitter-like app, and you are able to "check-in" at destinations nationwide. For retailers, this is a huge win. If you regularly check-in at say, Starbucks, they might be able to reward you with a free cup of coffee. Or those frequent travelers on the road, check in at an airport, and you just might notice a friend/business colleague who also happens to be 2 gates down. One of the most valuable layers on top of Twitter. Adds a layer of "real-like social intelligence" telling you where your friends are, giving you the ability to meetup and have fun!

I use it for blackberry, but the app has not come out yet....the site is very buggy, but hoping they fix some of the stuff in foursquare, all the bugs...in the mobile site.

Foursquare is great fun and it has been steadily improving as more folks jump onboard & give useful feedback. Early adopters do have to put some effort in, especially by adding places and getting the details correct, but it's still early days yet and I'm sure soon foursquare will be *the* app of 2010.

this is a must app for anyone in retail, there are certainly other applications, but it is mandatory for retail marketers. We are using it for a restaurant and hotel.
